"Perception of digital library task-ChaGPT influence among university level learners in Punjab".

 Abstract:

  •  The document's abstract provides an overview of the study on the perception of task-AI tools fit for electronic libraries among undergraduates at selected universities in Punjab.

  • The integration of technologies into Punjab universities and the establishment of e-libraries. It highlights the lack of research on the acceptance and usage of e-libraries in Punjab universities, especially from the users' perspective. It mentions that the study aims to identify the factors that influence the use of e-libraries by students and determine the fit of the technology for their tasks.

  • The study used a survey design and collected data from 150 students who used e-books digital libraries and digital resources.

  • The study found high use of e-libraries among students and a moderate positive correlation between task characteristics, technology characteristics, attitude, computer self-efficacy, task-technology fit, and students’ perception of AI tools like Chatbot, ChatGPT, GPT-3, etc.

  • The study validates the Task-Technology Fit model, which states that an information system must be a good fit for the tasks it supports to be utilized.

  • The study explores various studies on the acceptance and use of digital libraries and identifies different factors influencing their use. Examples of factors include user expectations, motivations, accessibility, and the type of e-resources available. The document also discusses the theoretical framework that underlies the study, although specific details about the framework are not provided. It concludes by validating the Task-Technology Fit model and highlighting the importance of a good fit between information systems and the tasks that support e-learning of students.

  • The conclusion of the document is that there is high usage of e-libraries among undergraduate students at selected universities in Punjab.

  • The study found that task characteristics, technology characteristics, attitude, computer self-efficacy, and task-technology fit all have a moderate positive correlation with using digital libraries, and formal learning of students.
